Mr Gibbs put me at ease and did a great job - am walking unaided and driving after 6 weeks of knee replacement.

After recovering quickly and relatively painlessly from a total hip replacement, I can honestly recommend Mr James Gibbs as a competent and reassuring surgeon.

I was a very nervous patient, but Mr Gibbs understanding and supportive approach to my concerns over requiring a total knee replacement put me at considerable ease. He explained exactly what was required and what I should expect immediately following the procedure. He made considerable efforts to accommodate my particular health needs right up to the smooth and relaxed journey to the operating theater. Mr Gibbs has always emphasised the need to undertake the prescribed exercises to facilitate and enhance recuperation. At each of my appointments, Mr Gibbs has carefully answered all my questions to allay any concerns I may have had. After some six weeks since the procedure I am pleased to say that Mr Gibbs has confirmed that I am making good progress in recovery which I am pleased to agree with. I would most certainly recommend Mr Gibbs to anyone requiring knee surgery, indeed he will be undertaking a total knee replacement on my other knee in approximately three months time and I have every confidence in a successful outcome.

I have recently had a total hip replacement by Mr Gibbs. I was extremely nervous about the procedure but Mr Gibbs was very reassuring and put me at ease. He has a very calm and kind manner and explained everything carefully to put my mind at rest. I have had some repair surgery on my knee in the past that was also done very successfully by Mr Gibbs so I knew I was going to be in good hands for my hip replacement.

As I write this review I’ve just been signed off by Mr Gibbs 6 weeks after my second successful Total Knee Replacement. Mr Gibbs has done both and I couldn’t be happier with the results. James Gibbs was recommended to me by another happy patient and despite being nearly 2 hours away I decided to trust the recommendation and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Post both operations I’ve pushed the physio and rehab and have had amazing results but you can only do that if you have trust in the surgeon and the operation. Thank you for giving me my life back.
